God Can Still Use You

Can God Use Someone Like Me?

It’s a quiet question that sits in the heart of many believers—Can God really use someone like me?

Maybe you’ve thought it in the middle of your mess. Maybe you’ve whispered it after a failure, a fall, or a season of feeling too ordinary to make any eternal difference. You love God, but you wonder if you’re too late… too flawed… too you.

If that’s you, you’re not alone. And the answer to that question is closer than you think.

Let’s talk about Moses.

When we think of Moses, we think of parted seas, plagues, mountaintop encounters, and leadership over an entire nation. But that’s not where his story begins. When God first called him, Moses didn’t feel powerful—he felt paralyzed.

God appears to him in a burning bush with a clear assignment: “I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:10)

And Moses responds not with confidence, but with excuses:

  • “Who am I that I should go?”

  • “What if they don’t believe me?”

  • “I’m not good with words.”

  • “Please, Lord, send someone else.”

Sound familiar?

God’s response wasn’t anger or disappointment. It was assurance.

“I will be with you.” (Exodus 3:12)
“I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)
“I will help you speak.” (Exodus 4:12)

In other words, “You may not feel ready—but I am enough.”

If you’re wondering whether God can use someone like you, here are 5 truths to hold on to:
1. God isn’t limited by your past.

Your failures don’t disqualify you. God often uses the very places of your weakness to show His strength.

2. You don’t have to be qualified to be called.

God didn’t choose Moses because of his skill set. He chose him because of his heart—and He equipped him along the way.

3. God walks with the willing.

The only requirement was obedience. Moses said yes, even with fear in his voice—and God did the rest.

4. God uses broken vessels.

Every person God used in Scripture—Moses, David, Rahab, Peter, Paul—was flawed. But they were available.

5. Your “yes” makes room for miracles.

When Moses obeyed, seas split and nations were set free. It started with one yes.

You are not too ordinary, too late, or too far gone.
You don’t need to have it all together—you just need to be open.

God already sees the impact you can have.
He’s not waiting for perfection. He’s waiting for permission.

So if you’re still asking, “Can God use someone like me?”
The answer is yes.
He already plans to.
